About the Work
When consumers step out to grab milk, run errands or pick up some things, they prefer to carry just keys and just enough cash. For American Express, Victor created convenience card design concepts and models.
The foldable concepts were designed as accessories to keychains emphasizing convenience for quick, small purchasing. Card designs needed to dip and swipe. The designs also isolated the American Express card away from the wallet and from competing financial products such as cash and other credit cards. Victor also specified a flat spring technology that allowed the card to be folded yet spring back to shape.

Design consultant creating new credit card designs and models for a new American Express convenience card. With the success of the Blue Card and Discover Card’s keychain convenience cards; AMEX acknowledges that good design increases spending frequency.
Concepts include convenience cards attached to a keychain that are able to swipe and dip.
Top concepts reach prototype development which results in the American Express Butterfly product.
